Spartans Edged By Seattle U. In Final Minute, 2-1

San Jose, Calif.----- Suliman Khorami accounted for San Jose State University's only goal in a 2-1 loss to Seattle University in the final Western Athletic Conference (WAC) men's soccer match for both teams.
 
            The Spartans (7-9-2, 5-5-1 WAC) tied the match, 1-1, on Khorami's second goal of the season at the 59:21 mark.
 
            Seattle U. (13-6, 7-4 WAC) literally used their heads for the win scoring both goals off of headers. Nathan Aune put the Redhawks ahead in the first half at 39:16. Noe Meza scored the game-winner at 89:15 on assists from Ivory Randle IV and Sergio Rivas).

            Spartan goalkeeper Alex Clewis was credited with four saves. Seattle U. goalkeeper Josh Adachi had two saves.
 
            Clewis was one of seven Spartan seniors honored on Senior Night. Zach Penner, Joseph Kay, Andy Rios, Miguel Castillo, Andrew Mendoza, and Jonathan Partida were recognized, too, in a pregame ceremony.
 
            The Spartans' season continues Wednesday, November 7, in a first-round WAC Tournament match hosted by Seattle U. Seven of the conference's 12 teams are vying for the championship and the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
