Saratoga, Calif.—— #8 Long Beach State pulled away near the end of the third quarter to beat #20-San Jose State, 11-8, in a Golden Coast Conference men's water polo match at the West Valley College Aquatic Center.
On Senior Day, Cade Baldridge was honored in pre-match ceremonies as the Spartans' one senior. Justin Pickering and Baldridge were the top scorers for the Spartans (6-16, 0-4 Golden Coast) with two goals each. Ary Kamen, Marc Weber, Niels Hofmeijer and Neil Arnett scored the other Spartan goals.
San Jose State goalkeeper Yahav Fire had 14 saves in the match.
Long Beach State (9-11, 2-2 Golden Coast) broke open a 6-5 match with four unanswered goals in a 3:43 span for the win.
