Andrade, Lemus Honored For November Achievements

San José State University volleyball player Luiza Andrade and men's soccer player Omar Lemus are the Student-Athletes of the Month for November, presented by O'Connor Hospital.

Andrade helped the Spartans to a 5-1 record in November and finish the season 16-11 overall. She averaged 5.80 digs, 1.44 assists and 0.32 service aces during the month. Andrade recorded a season-high 33 digs in a win at Fresno State and also had 30 digs in a five-set win at home against New Mexico. For the month, she recorded no less than 17 digs in any of the six matches played. Twice, she was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Andrade finished her career at San José State second all-time in digs with 1,653 during her four years. She is now listed eighth on the MW career digs list.  Andrade also ends with 122 service aces, tying for ninth all-time at SJSU and in the top-10 in MW history. Overall, Andrade led the MW in digs with 498, the fourth-highest total in school history.
 
Lemus and his foot helped the San José State men's soccer team advance to the championship match of the Western Athletic Conference men's soccer tournametn.
 
Lemus scored the match winner in the shoot out vs. host Seattle U. in the first round of the WAC Tournament. He then scored the only goal in the Spartans' 1-0 win over Texas Rio Grande Valley to advance to the WAC Tournament championship game. For his efforts, he was named to the all-tournament team.
