Distance Runners Lead Way Again For Spartans

Nampa, Idaho----- San Jose State University's Craig Huff and Jose Pina finished 2-3 overall and 1-2 among collegiate entries in the 3000-meter run highlighting the Spartans' performances in the Bronco Team Challenge indoor track and field meet.
 
Running the indoor 3,000 for the first time this season, Huff posted an 8:28.05 time. Pina was right behind at 8:30.09.  Edgar Bonilla also finished in the top-10 in the race for the Spartans at 8:44.11. Elijah Armstrong of Boise State, running as an unattached entry, was the winner with an 8:21.57 clocking.
 
Brendan Manigo had a busy day in the sprints qualifying for the final in the 60-meter dash and racing in the 200 meters. He posted identical times of 7.18 in a qualifying round and in the final of the 60. Manigo was 11th in 200 with a time of 23.72.
 
Aidan Jardon was San Jose State's top finisher in the 200 placing sixth in 22.62. Michael Harris, III, also was in the 200's top-10 with his tenth place finish of 22.85.
 
San Jose State wraps up its  first indoor track and field season since 1988 with the Mountain West Championships, February 21-23, in Albuquerque, N.M.
