Sarahvaughn King Sets School Record In Indoor 400 Meters

Boulder, Colo.----- Sophomore Sarahvaughn King set a San Jose State University record in the women's indoor 400 meter dash with second-place time of 56.46 seconds at Colorado Invitational track and field meet.
 
            King erased the previous record of 56.80 set by Caitlin Wilson during the 2016 season. King's previous best was 58.82 at the Jacoby Invite a year ago.
 
            "We are really proud of Sarahvaughn reaching this milestone. She has been working hard on improving the quality of her practices snd challenging herself with new workouts," said San Jose State University director of track and field Kendra Reimer-Gonzales.
 
            "She has committed herself to the process and it is starting to pay off. This is just the beginning of her running career at SJSU and there are even greater things to come."
 
            Jayla Williams was the only other Spartan entry in the meet. Williams ran an 8.87 to finish 12th in the 60-meter hurdles and was 33rd in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.45.
