San Jose State University's Josh Oliver's pursuit of a professional football career continues at the end of February and the beginning of March after accepting an invitation to participate in the 2019 National Football League Combine in Indianapolis, Ind.
Oliver is one of 21 tight ends and one of three at the position from the Mountain West.
Overall, 338 NFL hopefuls will participate in the event that begins February 26 and concludes March 4. Players will be tested in the 60-yard dash, the vertical jump, standing long jump, the number of times one can bench press 225 pounds, a three-cone L-shaped running test and a 20-yard shuttle run of 5-10-5 yards.
Oliver recently spent a week in Mobile, Ala., as the one San Jose State player in the Senior Bowl. In 2018, Oliver caught 56 passes for 709 yards and four touchdowns and was named a first-team All-Mountain West tight end.
