Spartans Host Santa Clara And Bucknell On Tuesday

San Jose, Calif. – The San José State softball team has a busy week at home starting with a pair of games on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Santa Clara and Bucknell will play a neutral site game on Spartan Softball Field at 4:30 p.m., followed by the Spartans hosting Bucknell in a 7:00 p.m. tilt.
 
So far this season, Bucknell is 6-10 and is led by Allyse Volpe's .378 batting average, 10 runs and two triples.  Taylor Wolfgang provides the power with six doubles, two homers and 11 RBIs.  As a team, the Bison are hitting .272 and have a .947 fielding percentage.
 
In the circle, Raeanne Geffert had pitched 56.2 innings with a 3.09 ERA.  She is 3-6 on the year with 48 strikeouts and 25 walks and batters are hitting .257 off her.
 
This will be the first meeting between these programs.
 
The Spartans (11-9) are hitting .255 as a team and are led by Arianna Miranda's .352 batting average.  She leads the team with 19 hits, three homers and 13 RBIs.  Rayohna Sagapolu is hitting .316 and has a pair of triples.  Makayla Englestad also has two triples, four doubles and is batting .298.
 
In the circle, Jenessa Ullegue has a 5-2 record, two saves and five complete games with a team-leading 1.19 ERA.  In 46.2 innings she has 29 strikeouts and has walked 17.  Batters are hitting .220 off her.
