Seattle, Wash.—The San José State women's gymnastics team won or tied for first in every event Friday as the Spartans scored a 194.075 in a meet at Seattle Pacific, who scored a 192.525, inside the Brougham Pavilion.
Taylor Chan was the big winner of the day, was first on three events and won the all-around with a 39.225. She tied teammate Chelsey Andrada on vault with a 9.725, won the beam with a season-best 9.850 and received her sixth 9.900 on floor for her sixth floor title of the year.
Kaprece Nadonza tied for first on bars with SPU's Darian Burns with a 9.800. This the second bars title for Nadonza in the past three meets.
The Spartans best event came in the final rotation on beam. The team had a season-best 48.825, led by Chan's 9.850. Andrada and Stephanie Relova each had a 9.800, while Tia Gin had a season-best 9.750. Carli Orcutt added a 9.625, while Josalyn Ray had a 9.125.
The bars team started the Spartans off strong in the meet with a 48.625. Nadonza's 9.800 was followed by Chan and Relova at 9.750, Gin at 9.675, Orcutt at 9.650 and Nikki Duggan at 8.525. The floor team had a 48.475, while the vault team scored a 48.150.
San José State returns to The Event Center to face California next Friday, March 8, for the final home meet of the year. The meet begins at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 5:45 p.m. The five Spartans seniors will also be honored after the meet – Kaprece Nadonza, Ellie Pascoe-Long, Josalyn Ray, Stephanie Relova and Michelle Shalit.
