Spartans Have A Winning Streak - 4-3 Over College of Charleston

San Jose, Calif.----- Spurred by winning a doubles point for the first time in six matches, San Jose State University defeated College of Charleston, 4-3, in a non-conference women's tennis match.

San Jose State University women's tennis coach Chad Skorupka changed up his doubles pairs with positive results.

Laura Malsert and Savannah Sendar teamed up for the first time in seven dual matches and defeated College of Charleston's Christi Woodson and Anatasia Palaska, 6-2, at #1 doubles. The Spartans gained the doubles point when their #2-doubles pairing of Miyo Kobayashi and Alba Pedrero Galindo topped Clara Errard and Lily Labiche, 6-3.

"We needed a little change. Laura probably is our best all-=around doubles player on the team right now. She can play #1, #2 or #3. She raises her partner's game. You saw that at #1 today. "t was a great win at #1 and a good job at #2," said Skorupka about today's doubles play.

The Spartans (6-4) got straight-set singles wins from Pedrero Galindo, Milojkovic and Malsert to clinch the match and win their second contest in a row.

San Jose State is off until March 30 when it faces Hawaii Pacific to start a two-match Hawaiian road trip. First serve at the University of Hawaii courts in Honolulu is at 10:00 a.m. (HST).
