Reno, Nev.----- Selina Turulja of Nevada outlasted San Jose State University's Savannah Sendar in the final singles match giving the Wolf Pack a 4-3 win over the Spartans in a Mountain West women's tennis contest.
Turlja posted a 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (8-6 tiebreaker) victory in the decisive #4-singles match at the McArthur Tennis Center on the University of Nevada campus.
San Jose State (9-8, 1-3 Mountain West) got singles wins from Tamara Culibrk at #1, Miyo Kobayashi at #2 and Klara Milojkovic at #6. Culibrk needed three sets for her victory compared to straight set triumphs by Kobayashi and Milojkovic.
The Spartans entered singles play against Nevada (9-10, 1-3 Mountain West) trailing, 1-0, after losing the doubles point on a pair of 6-4 decisions at #1 and #2-doubles. San Jose State's #3-doubles pair of Culibrk and Milojkovic easily won their match giving them each two individual victories on the day.
San Jose State will wait for the draw to determine order of play at the Mountain West Championship hosted by San Diego State. The championship tournament begins Thursday, April 25, and concludes with the championship match, Sunday, April 28.
