Colorado Springs, Colo.----- San Jose State University senior Miyo Kobayashi is one of 16 players named to All-Mountain West women's tennis team for singles in an announcement from the conference office.
Kobayashi compiled a 13-10 win-loss record in singles during the 2018 tournament and 2019 dual match season. Playing primarily at #2-singles during the dual match season she set the San Jose State record for combined career singles and doubles victories on April 12 when and teammate Laura Malsert won their doubles match against Fresno State.
Kobayashi enters the 2019 Mountain West Tournament with 145 total wins, 71 of them in singles action. The conference honor is her first on-court competiiton recognition in her four-year college career. A business administration major with a concentration international business, Kobayashi is a previous Mountain West Scholar-Athlete and an Academic All-Mountain West honoree.
She and her teammates continue their season with an April 24 Mountain West Tournament first-round match in San Diego as the #8-seed against #9-seed Fresno State. First serve is at 10:00 a.m. (PT).
