Sacramento, Calif.----- San Jose State University's Jeanette Zambrano finished 11th in her heat and 31st overall in the women's steeplechase at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships Preliminary Round meet.
Zambrano navigated the 3000-meter course in 10:23.03. A time of 9:59.22 was needed to advance from the three heats to the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas, in two weeks.
Boise State's Allie Ostrander ran the fastest time among the 48 runners with a 9:40.05 clocking.
Zambrano and teammate Jennifer Sandoval will conclude their NCAA Preliminary Round action, Saturday, May 25, in the 5,000 meters. The race is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. (PT). A live stream on a fee basis is available at flosports.com.
