Two Freshmen To Join Women's Gymnastics Program

As we get closer to the beginning of school, we would like to introduce two more gymnasts who will join the Spartan women's gymnastics program this fall.

Simone Adams
Mesa, Ariz./Red Mountain HS
Gold Medal Gym, Chandler, Ariz.

Simone competed for Gold Medal Gymnastics and coaches Kristin Fanning and Amanda Borden. She is a three-time Level 10 regional qualifier and the 2019 Arizona state floor champion. Simone was second on floor at the 2019 regionals and had one of the top-100 scores on floor in the nation in 2019.

Head Coach Joanne Bowers on Simone
"We all fell in love with Simone on her visit and know she will be a great fit for our program. She is a very good gymnast, student and person who exemplifies all that we are trying to build with this team. Simone comes from a strong club gym and knows what it takes to be successful. She is willing to do what it takes to be a good student-athlete. Her best event is floor but can be expected to help us in the all-around."

Cameron Kelperis
Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson HS
American Gymnastics Academy, Signal Hill, Calif.

Cameron competed for American Gymnastics Academy and coaches Shane and Carol McIntyre, Peter Flores and JD MacDonald.  She competed at the 2019 JO National Championships where she tied for 15th on vault and tied for 20th on floor. At the 2019 Level 10 Regional, she was third on vault, tied for seventh on floor and tied for eighth on beam.  In 2018, Cameron tied for second on vault and seventh on floor at regionals.

Head Coach Joanne Bowers on Cameron
"We saw Cameron compete at JO Nationals this year, and she did a great dynamic vault (10.0 start value) that we knew could help us. She is also a very strong beam and floor performer. After getting to know her, we just knew she would be a great addition to our Spartan family."
