Kendra Reimer-Gonzales Honored By Silicon Valley Business Journal

San Jose, CALIF.----- San Jose State University Director of Track and Field & Cross Country Kendra Reimer-Gonzales will be honored by the Silicon Valley Business Journal, Thursday, July 25, in the publication's annual 40-Under-40 awards program.
 
            The program honors 40 individuals under the age of 40 who impact their industries and communities in Silicon Valley.
 
            "It is a great honor to be recognized with such a distinguished group of up-and-coming leaders in Silicon Valley. I am grateful to be a part of the San Jose State track and field program where I can help student-athletes compete for championships and earn their degrees," said Reimer-Gonzales, who is entering her second season at San Jose State.
 
            She joined the Spartans in August 2018 after serving four seasons as San Francisco State University's head coach of women's cross country and track and field. In her first season at San Jose State, the Spartans produced an individual conference champion in men's track and field in its first season as a reinstated NCAA Division I program after a 30-year hiatus. Two men and two women qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. School records were set in six track and field events. Student-athletes earned 42 institutional, conference and national academic awards.
 
            "San Jose State University thanks the Silicon Valley Business Journal for recognizing Coach Reimer-Gonzales with this award. In her first year with the Spartans, her track and field student-athletes had some wonderful individual accomplishments in competition. There was a conference champion and student-athletes qualified for the NCAA Championships. We also had student-athletes earn academic awards from the university, the Mountain West and nationally. Congratulations to Coach Reimer-Gonzales," said Marie Tuite, San Jose State University's director of athletics.
 
            Reimer-Gonzales and the award winners representing many sectors of professional for profit and non-profit organizations in the Silicon Valley will be honored at a reception at Club Auto Sport in San Jose, located at 521 Charcot Avenue.
