COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –San Jose State women's soccer dropped their first conference match of their season by a final of 1-0 Friday night in Colorado Springs.
The Spartans put up 13 shots as opposed to the Tigers' nine, and made a total of three saves in the loss.
In the 52nd minute of the second half, Colorado College's Kiley Suter made the lone goal of the match, as she was able to sneak a shot past Ariana Romero into the bottom left corner of the goal for the game-winner.
The Spartans had several opportunities to bury a goal themselves, with one of their best chances coming in the 46th minute as freshman Sabrina Weinman put her first of three shots on goal. SJSU finished with four shots on goal with Jamilecxth Becerra tallying the other.
With the loss, SJSU drops to to 2-5-2, 0-1-0 in conference play, and will resume MW play on Sunday against the Air Force Falcons. Kick off is slated for 11:00 a.m. PT.
