Spartans Lose 11-5 To #1 UC Santa Barbara in Mountain Pacific Invitational

Los Angeles, Calif.——#20 San Jose State suffered an 11-5 non-conference loss to #1 UC Santa Barbara on the first day of the Mountain Pacific Invitational co-hosted by UCLA and LMU.

     Finn Pardon, Nick Marchione, Emerson Trout, Justin Pickering and Marc Weber each scored a goal for the Spartans (2-7). 

    #1 UC Santa Barbara started out strong with a 3-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. and never trailed in the match.

    Spartan goalkeeper Yahav Fire was credited with 10 saves and goalkeeper Griffin O'Brien was credited with one save. 

    The Spartans will return to action tomorrow for the second day of the Mountain Pacific Invitational when San Jose State will play against #11 UC San Diego.
