San Diego, Calif.----- San Jose State University sophomore Alba Galindo Pedrero completed a three match sweep of her bracket to win one of seven singles titles at the season-opening SDSU Fall Classic I women's tennis tournament.
Galindo Pedrero defeated San Diego State's Abbie Mulbarger 7-6 (7-5 tiebreaker), 6-2 in a championship side match. Galindo Pedrero did not lose a set in any of her three singles victories.
Junior Klara Milojkovic and freshman Rozalina Youseva's attempts to join Galindro Pedrero in the winner's circle as champions of their flight were thwarted by a pair of San Diego State players. Youseva won the first set against Cecile Morin, but dropped the next two, 1-6, 7-5, 6-4. Milojkovic, who won a three-set match on September 28, to reach a championship final in her flight lost to Agustina Rimoldi Gody in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
The Spartan doubles team of Savannah Sendar and Youseva missed out on a championship flight opportunity dropping a match to the San Diego State pair of Nnena Nadozie and Melosch, 6-2.
San Jose State returns to action Friday, October 4, at the three-day Saint Mary's Invitational in Moraga.
