San José State University women's golfer Natahsa Andrea Oon is one of 15 collegiate women's golfers named to the Golfweek ANNIKA Award Fall Watch List for the 2019-20 season, as announced Thursday morning by Golfweek.
Oon, a sophomore from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, continues to make an impact on the Spartan program just three tournaments into her sophomore year. She started the year finishing second at the Minnesota Invitational, then tied for eighth a the Illini Women's Invitational and tied for 13th this past weekend at the Stanford Intercollegiate. Oon has shot par or better in seven of her eight rounds this season including a 67 in the second round of the Minnesota Invitational. Currently, she ranks 160 on the WAGR.
Oon recorded one of the best freshman years in recent San José State women's golf history. She was a second team 2019 All-America honoree by the Women's Golf Coaches Association and a 2019 Golfweek Third Team All-America selection. Oon was the 2018-19 Mountain West Freshman of the Year and a first team All-MW honoree. She finished ninth at the NCAA Championship Stroke Play and won two tournament titles – Minnesota Invitational and The Gold Rush.
The ANNIKA Award Presented by Stifel annually honors the player of the year in women's college golf as selected by college golfers, coaches and members of the golf media.
