Long Beach, Calif.—The No. 19 ranked San Jose State men's water polo team lost 10-6 to No. 7 ranked Long Beach State on Saturday in the squad's first Golden Coast Conference match.
Marc Weber scored three of the Spartans' six goals with Finn Pardon, Adam Bado and Giacomo Lovatelli scoring the remainder. Weber has had three goals in back-to-back games.
Long Beach State took an early lead, scoring its first goal at 6:22 then scored two more by the end of the quarter.
Marc Weber scored the first Spartan goal three seconds into the second quarter. After the Spartans scored two more times, Long Beach State answered with two of their own scores to make it a 4-3 lead for the Beach at halftime.
The Spartans tallied three more scores in the second half while Long Beach State scored six times.
Spartan goalkeeper Yahav Fire was credited with four saves.
The Spartans return to action tomorrow for their next conference matchup against UC Irvine at 12:00 PM.
