September Student-Athletes of the Month Announced

San José State University women's golfer Natasha Andrea Oon and football defensive back Bobby Brown, II are the Student-Athletes of the Month for September, presented by Berkeley Farms.

Oon finished second at the Minnesota Invitational with an eight-under 136. She shot a five-under 67 in the second round, played on her 18th birthday, with a clean card that included five birdies and 13 pars. This was her seventh top-five finish (13 tournaments played) in just her second year as a Spartan.

Brown helped lead San José State to a 31-24 road victory at Arkansas, the Spartans first victory over an autonomous 5 opponent since 2006. He logged seven tackes and two interceptions in the game, just one of two FBS players with multiple picks that weekend. Brown's second interception was the game clincher, picking off the Razorbacks on their first play of their final drive with just 1:13 remaining. He helped the Spartans snap a 13-game road losing streak. For his efforts, Brown was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week and received a Helmet Sticker on "College Football Final." For September, Brown finished the month tied for the national lead among FBS players in interceptions per game at 0.80.
