San Jose, Calif.—-The Spartans scored a total of 15 goals in their first games of the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament.
#13 San Jose State started their day with a 7-6 non-conference win against Princeton with Adam Bado leading the Spartans with two goals.
The first Spartan goal was the first tying goal scored by Giacomo Lovatelli halfway through the first quarter. Adam Bado scored the second goal for San Jose State six minutes into the quarter. Princeton scored their second goal tying the game for the second time and shortly after Niels Hofmeijer's goal gave San Jose State the lead for the rest of the match.
Spartan goalkeeper Yahav Fire was credited with 11 saves.
The Spartans second match was a 10-8 non-conference loss against #9 Harvard. Finn Pardon was the leading scorer with three goals.
Finn Pardon scored the first goal of the match with Justin Pickering scoring another goal shortly after. Harvard scored their first two goals before the end of the first quarter starting the second quarter in a tie. Finn Pardon's second goal put San Jose State back in the lead until Harvard scored another two goals putting them back in the lead. Adam Bado tied the score for the third time with two minutes left in the first half but Harvard scored ending the first half 5-4 Harvard. In the third quarter Harvard and San Jose State both scored two more goals and Harvard still holding onto their one point lead. The Spartans scored two goals in the fourth quarter but with an additional three goals Harvard won the match.
Spartan goalkeeper Yahav Fire was credited with 10 saves.
The Spartans return to action tomorrow October 27 for the final day of the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament. The first San Jose State match will be in the home pool against St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers at 10:40 am.
