Medinah, Ill.—Spartan women's golfer Natasha Andrea Oon shot two more rounds under par on Monday and is tied for 10th place after two rounds of the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah. San José State is currently 11th in the team standings at 17-over 593.
Oon shot a one-under 71 in the first round and followed that with a two-under 70 in the second round. She is tied for 10th at three-under 141. Oon made three birdies and 13 pars in the first round and four birdies and 12 pars in the second round.
Starting her rounds on the fourth hole, her score got as low as two-under par in each round. After shooting even par for the first six holes of the second round, she shot two-under for the final 12 holes with two birdies and 10 pars.
Antonia Malate and Ysabel Tran each shot an even-par 72 in the first round. Malate followed that with a five-over 77 and is tied for 47th at 149. Tran shot a 78 in the second round and is tied for 54th at six-over 150.
Kasja Arwefjäll is tied for 70th at nine-over 153, while Jadan Gonzalez is 84th at 19-over 163. Arwefjäll shot 76-77 for her two rounds, while Gonzalez shot 85-78 in her first two collegiate rounds.
San José State is 11th in the team standings at 593, four shots behind Purdue. Kent State leads the tournament at nine-under 567, followed by Louisville at six-under 570.
Final round play has a shotgun start Tuesday at 9 a.m. CT/7 a.m. PT. The Spartans start on holes 10, 11, 12 and 13, and play with Purdue and Indiana.
