San Jose, Calif.—- #12 San Jose State lost to #4 University of the Pacific, 13-8, in the last Golden Coast Conference match for both teams.
The top scorers for the Spartans (7-18, 1-4 GCC) were Justin Pickering and Adam Bado who both scored two goals. The other goals for San Jose State were scored by Finn Pardon, Ashley Castle, Marc Weber and Niels Hofmeijer.
The first goal of the match was scored by Pacific (16-3, 5-0 GCC) followed by San Jose State's first goal scored by Bado. The last goal of the first quarter was Pacific's second goal of the game.
University of the Pacific scored five goals in the second quarter sending the match into the second half with a score of 7-1. Castle, Bado and Pardon scored in the third quarter, but the Spartans still trailed, 9-4. In the fourth quarter, both teams scored four goals.
Spartan goalkeeper Yahav Fire was credited with 13 saves.
The final match of the regular season also was Senior Day. Castle, Weber, Brad Dennis, Cristian Tanase, Emerson Trout, and Giacomo Lovatelli were saluted before the match for their contributions to the San Jose State mens' water polo program.
