Malibu, Calif.—-#12-San Jose State scored eight goals in an 11-8 Golden Coast Conference (GCC) loss against #5-Pepperdine.
Ary Kamen and Ethan Koch led the Spartans with two goals each. The other San Jose State goals were scored by Finn Pardon, Neil Arnett, Niels Hofmeijer, and Giacomo Lovatelli.
Peperdine scored the first three goals of the match then Koch scored the first goal for the Spartans with three minutes left in the first quarter. Kamen scored the next goal for the Spartans with 0:34 on the clock.
In the second quarter San Jose State and Pepperdine each scored two more goals. The Spartan goals were scored by Giacomo Lovatelli and Niels Hofmeijer. In the third quarter, Neil Arnett scored his first goal of the game and Kamen scored his second to the tie match at 6-6, with 3:40 remaining in the third quarter..
Pepperdine closed out the quarter's scoring with a goal that led to a 10-6 lead for the Waves. After another Pepperdine goal, Pardon found the cage followed by Koch's second goal.
Spartan goalkeeper Yahav Fire was credited with 10 saves.
The Spartans will return to action tomorrow against #7 USC in their home pool at 12:00 p.m.
