San Jose, Calif.—For the second consecutive week, San José State women's gymnast Taylor Chan has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week.
Chan won the all-around this past Sunday with a season-best and top score in the MPSF 39.100 in a meet with Boise State and Seattle Pacific. She also won her second consecutive floor title with a 9.875. Chan was part of the beam team that scored a 48.950, tying for the eighth-best beam score in school history. She scored a 9.775 on vault and a 9.800 on bars.
This is the third consecutive week a Spartan has been named the MPSF Gymnast of the Week after Shyan Phillips won on January 14, and Chan the past two awards.
San José State hosts UC Davis this Friday night for Dad's and Daughter's Night and Club Team Night inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center. The meet begins at 7 p.m.
