Lake, Elsinore, Calif.—Two run-ruled games gave the San Jose State softball team two victories Friday at the Golden State Classic as the Spartans improved to 4-2 on the season.
The Spartans scored seven runs in the fourth inning against Bradley to win 11-0 in five innings. Makayla Englestad and Alyssa Graham each had two hits in the win. Graham drove in five runs including three in the first inning when she hit her first home run of the season to left field.
Shannon Haddad picked up her second win of the season with a complete game three-hitter. She struck out five and walked one in facing 18 batters.
The Spartans scored in five the six innings played in a 10-2 win in six innings over LIU Friday. Rayohna Sagapolu, Cassidy Clark and Graham each had two hits, while Sagapolu drove in three.
Ilona Sullivan pitched three innings, allowing two unearned runs, striking out one and walking one. Shannon Haddad pitched three innings of relief to improve her record to 3-1 on the season.
The Spartans continue play on Saturday with games against Seton Hall at 10 a.m. and Hawaii at 12:30 p.m.
