Malsert Only Winner For Spartans In 4-1 Loss To Pacific

Stockton, Calif.----- Laura Malsert was San Jose State University's only winner with a victory at  #5 singles as the Spartans lost to the University of the Pacific, 4-1, in a non-conference women's tennis match.
 
            Malsert defeated Maya Lopez, 7-5, 7-6 (tiebreaker) for the Spartans (2-4).
 
            Pacific (3-1) jumped ahead, 1-0, with wins at #1 and #3 doubles. Tamara Culibrk and Malsert, were trailing, 3-2, when the Tigers clinched the doubles portion of the match.
 
            Malsert's singles win was one of three straight-set singles triumphs on the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center Courts.
 
            Klara Kosan clinched the match for Pacific defeating Alba Pedrero Galindo of San Jose State, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.
 
            After three consecutive weekends on the road, the Spartans return to the Spartan Tennis Complex hosting Santa Clara, Friday, February 28, and Fullerton State, Sunday, March 1. Both matches begin at noon.
