Colorado Springs, Colo.----- San Jose State University received its 2020 football schedule and Spartans fans can look at this season's six home games as a 1-2-3.
Whether it's toe-tapping or finger-snapping to your favorite tune, counting up for a birthday party surprise, or crouched ready to explode from a starting line, the Spartans will be playing one home game in September, two in October, and three in November in CEFCU Stadium, Home of the Spartans.
HOME OPENER - SEPTEMBER 12
Head coach Brent Brennan will be leading San Jose State on to the field for the home opener Saturday, September 12 versus UC Davis after the season opener September 5 at Central Michigan.
TWO IN OCTOBER
The Spartans won't be back home until Saturday, October 10 for Air Force, the team's second game of the eight-game Mountain West schedule. UNLV, with San Jose State alum and new head coach Marcus Arroyo, comes to CEFCU Stadium for an October 17 conference contest.
THREE IN NOVEMBER
The final three home games are on consecutive Saturdays in November starting with Nevada on November 7, a non-conference contest with UConn on November 14, and Hawaii on November 21.
A BYE & ON THE ROAD
San Jose State's BYE week is the week ending September 26 following the September 19 non-conference game at Penn State. The Spartans open Mountain West action on October 3 after their BYE at Boise State. Remaining conference road games are at San Diego State on October 24, New Mexico on October 31, and at Fresno State on November 28 to defend the Valley Trophy signifying the annual winner of the San Jose State-Fresno State football game.
MORE SCHEDULING NEWS TO COME
Today's announcement completes the first phase of the conference's 2020 football schedule process. In phase two, conference national television partners CBS Sports and Fox Sports will begin a selection process that will shift selected games to a Thursday or Friday night with kickoff times announced.
