San Jose, Calif.----- Despite playing one player short for the second match in three days, San Jose State University pushed Fullerton State to the final set of the last match before losing a 4-3 women's tennis non-conference match at the Spartan Tennis Complex.
Jadie Acidera of the Titans outlasted the Spartans' Tamara Culibrk at #2 singles, 1-6, 6-2, 6-1, to give Fullerton State (7-3) the win.
San Jose State (2-6) was trailing 2-0 after losing the doubles point and defaulting the #6 singles position due to only having a five-player lineup.
Still, senior Laura Malsert, junior Savannah Sendar, and freshman Lara Marco Mas won their singles matches in straight sets to tie the score at 3-3.
The Spartans are in action next, Friday, March 13, hosting Furman in a non-conference match. First serve at the Spartan Tennis Complex is at Noon.
