February Athletes of the Month
 
San José State University softball player Shannon Haddad, women's gymnast Emma Milne, baseball player Ruben Ibarra and indoor track and field athlete James Burbank are the co-Student-Athletes of the Month for February, presented by the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.
 
Haddad went 11-2 on the month with a 0.88 ERA and two saves. She made 17 appearances and pitched seven complete games. Haddad struck out 74 batters and walked only 13 in 63.2 innings pitched. She struck out 11 batters against California Baptist and 10 against Canisius.
 
Milne set the San José State beam record with a 9.925 at Seattle Pacific on the 21st, and helped the beam team to a 49.100, tying for the then-fourth best score in school history. The next week, she tied the beam record with a 9.925 at Sacramento State on February 28.
 
Burbank finished third in the long jump after competing in his first Mountain West Championship. His podium finish earned him a spot on the All-MW Indoor Track & Field team. His mark of 7.28 meters was the second-best jump in indoor program history.
 
Ibarra started all 11 games in February, leading the team in hits (14), home runs (2), batting average (.389) and slugging percentage (.667). He drew a team-high nine walks and was perfect in the field in 16 changes. Ibarra recorded two or more hits in five games including a 3-for-5 performance in a win over Creighton.
