Spartans Announce Heart for San Jose

Update 4/27/20 - 451 masks have been donated and $800 donated from sales of Heart for San Jose merchandise

SAN JOSE, Calif. –
The San Jose State athletics department has partnered with Sacred Heart Community Service and Family Supportive Housing on the Heart for San Jose initiative.
 
"During this uncertain and difficult time, we felt a strong responsibility to work with two great organizations to help our San Jose community get through the coronavirus crisis," said athletics director Marie Tuite.
 
Fans and supporters can purchase masks, shirts and hats with Heart for San Jose and Bay Area Unite slogans, with proceeds and donations going to Sacred Heart Community Service and Family Supportive Housing. A free SJSU football ticket will be included in each purchase as well.
 
- $5 from each t-shirt and hat sold will be donated to Heart for San Jose partner non-profits.
- With every mask sold, one will be donated to Heart for San Jose partner non-profits.
- With every purchase, buyers will receive one free ticket to a select SJSU Football game in the 2020 season.

Sacred Heart Community Service
Sacred Heart Community Service is a non-profit that provides food, clothing, shelter, educational opportunities and more to the underprivileged and homeless. They are neighbors for San Jose State athletics, located on the corner of Alma and Monterey.
 
Family Supportive Housing
Family Supportive Housing is a shelter that provides housing, food and safety services for families. This is the same shelter where former SJSU football wide receiver James Jones was housed during parts of his childhood.
