Oon Adds Another All-America Honor

San Jose, Calif.— San José State sophomore women's golfer Natasha Andrea Oon added to her honors collection as she was named an honorable mention Women's Golf Coaches' Association (WGCA) All-America honoree on Tuesday.

Oon led the Spartans with a 71.64 stroke average during the shortened season. She recorded three top-10 finishes – second at Minnesota Invitational (-8, 136), tied for eighth at Illini Women's Invitational (-4, 212) and tied for eighth at Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational (+3, 219). After the fall season, Oon was one of 15 collegiate women's golfers named to the 2020 Golfweek ANNIKA Award Fall Watch List. Oon currently ranks 68th on the WAGR.

"Natasha continued to be a leader on the course and in the classroom for us," said Spartan head coach Dana Dormann. "She works very hard to play at the highest level, and we are very proud of her! We cannot wait to see what type of impact she will continue to have on the record books of Spartan golf."

Oon received All-American honors for the second consecutive year after she was a second team 2019 All-America honoree by the WGCA. Other honors she received her freshman year included a 2019 Golfweek Third Team All-America selection, the 2018-19 Mountain West Freshman of the Year and a first team All-MW honoree. She finished ninth at the 2019 NCAA Championship Stroke Play and won two tournament titles – Minnesota Invitational and The Gold Rush.
