Women's Water Polo All-America Honors For Spartan Lili Urvari

Bridgeport, Pa.----- Add an honorable mention All-America honor to San José State University women's water polo player Lili Urvari's accolades for the 2020 season.

The junior from Szentes, Hungary was named a second-team All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) award recipient earlier in the month for the Spartans that finished the abbreviated season ranked 14th nationally.

"This All-America award Lili received speaks to her incredible team contributions and tenacious work ethic.  She was a formidable force and came up big in critical moments this year," said San Jose State women's water polo head cach Beth Harberts.

Urvari led the Spartans in goal scoring with 33 in 17 contests. She ranked ninth in the MPSF, arguably the strong women's water polo conference nationally, in goals scored per match. In wins against #6-California and #14-UC Davis, she scored game-winning goals with less 1:00 remaining in the fourth quarter. In the win against Cal, her winner came on the final shot of the match.

She also was second in the MPSF in steals with a team-high 24.

"Lili is a leader, always encouraging her teammates, and demonstrates sincere sportsmanship. Her ability to compete in tough games is tremendous and we are excited to have her return next year," Harberts added.
