Clark Named CoSIDA Academic All-District 8

San Jose, Calif.—San José State senior softball player Cassidy Clark continued to add to her honors list on Thursday as she was named to the Academic All-District 8 team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

This is the second major award for Clark this school year after she was named one of 30 student-athletes selected for the 2020 Senior CLASS Award® for softball, an award that honors players for excellence in community, classroom, character and competition.

A health science major, Clark is a three-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree, 2019 Mountain West Scholar Athlete and a two-time San José State Dean's Scholar.

In 2020, Clark started all 26 games at second base and hit .369 in the third spot of the batting lineup. She recorded a team-best 31 hits, 25 runs scored and nine doubles. She had a 10-game hitting streak during the season and ended the year with a four-game streak.  For her career, Clark is a three-time All-MW selection and was the 2019 Co-Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year.

She is the 10th Spartan softball player to receive this honor in the program's history.
