Colorado Springs, Colo.----- Senior Tre Walker is the one San Jose State University football player named to the 28-player Mountain West preseason all-conference team in a media vote.
One of three wide receivers named on offense, Walker led the Mountain West as a junior in 2019 in pass receptions per game with his 79 catches and receiving yards per game with 1,161 yards. Nationally, he was the only player in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) to finish in the top-five in both categories. Walker was third in receiving yards per game at 116.1 and fourth in pass receptions per game at 7.9.
Three times in 2019, Walker caught 10 or more passes. His single-game high is 12 first in the September 21 win at Arkansas and on November 23 at UNLV.
The Mountain West recognition is the latest preseason honor for the communication studies major from Los Angeles. Recently, he was named to the 2020 Biletnikoff Award Watch List.
The Mountain West preseason all-conference team consists of 12 players on offense, 12 on defense, a punter, a placekicker, a punt return specialist and a kickoff return specialist.
