Mountain West Women's Basketball Schedule Set

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference released its league slate for the conference's 2020-21 women's basketball season on Friday. All contests are subject to state, county and local approvals.

San José State will open the 2020-21 Mountain West season under eighth-year head coach Jamie Craighead on December 31, playing host to Wyoming at the Provident Credit Union Event Center.

The Spartans first three conference games will be played at home with Boise State (Jan. 2) and San Diego State (Jan. 6) rounding out the opening homestand. The team will end the regular season on the road, heading to San Diego State (Feb. 27) and UNLV (March 2) before the Mountain West Women's Basketball Championship tips off on March 7 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

SJSU will not play on the road against Wyoming and does not have a home date with Colorado State. Its second of two three-game homestands will feature UNLV (Feb. 17), Fresno State (Feb. 20) and New Mexico (Feb. 24) on Senior Day.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions set by Santa Clara County, fans will not be allowed at the Event Center for home contests.

San José State is coming off its most successful season in 40 years and enters the 2020-21 campaign with six seniors on its roster. Bolstered by the nation's largest single-season win turnaround a year ago, the Spartans finished in a tie for third in the Mountain West standings and reached the semifinals of a conference tournament for just the third time in school history.
