San José State record: 2-0, 2-0 Mountain West. Most recently, the Spartans defeated New Mexico, 38-21, in a Mountain West game on October 31. San José State has wins in its last thee games dating back to the 17-16 victory over Fresno State to conclude the 2019 season and a 17-6 victory over Air Force in the 2020 season opener.

San Diego State record: 2-0, 2-0 Mountain West. Most recently, the Aztecs won their first road game of the season defeating Utah State, 38-7, on October 31.



Television:  The CBS Sports Network will provide broadcast coverage.  Rich Waltz calls the play-by-play. Aaron Murray serves as the analyst. Sherree Burriss is the sidelines reporter. The CBS Sports Network telecast begins at 6:00 p.m. (PT).

Play-by-Play Radio Coverage: KNEW (960 AM, San Francisco) will broadcast the San Diego State game live in place of KDOW (1220 AM, Palo Alto). Justin Allegri calls the play-by-play. Kevin Richardson provides commentary. The San Diego State broadcast begins at 5:30 p.m. (PT) with a pregame show.

Series history: San José State leads the series, 22-19-2. The Aztec have won the last seven contests between these teams including a 27-17 decision at San Jose''s CEFCU Stadium on October 19, 2019.
The Spartans' last win in the series was a 38-34 victory at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.

Aiming for a 3-0 start to the season: The last time a San José State team began a season with a 3-0 record was in 1982 when the Spartans won at Oregon, 18-13; outlasted Stanford and John Elway, 35-31; and topped Oregon State on the road, 17-13.

A 3-0 conference start is possible: The 2020 San Jose State football team can become the university's first to post a 2-0 record in conference play since joining the Mountain West.
The last time the Spartans had a 3-0 conference record was in 2008 as a Western Athletic Conference member after wins at Hawai'i,  over Utah State at home, and on the road at New Mexico State.

One of 17: San José State heads into the San Diego State game as one of 17 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams with an undefeated record in games played through October 31.

This year's game is the second time San Jose State is facing San Diego State with an undefeated record. When the 1939 Spartans finished with a perfect 13-0 win-loss mark, San Jose State topped San Diego State, 42-0, to improve its record to 6-0. The Aztecs had a 2-1 record entering the 1939 game between these teams.

Third down thunder: Five of San Jose State's seven touchdowns this season have been third down pass plays. A sixth TD came on a fourth-down pass play.
