San Jose, Calif.---- Former San Jose State University football defensive back Ghalee Wadood returned to his alma mater as the program's director of player personnel. Head coach Brent Brennan of the Spartans made the announcement.
Most recently, Wadood was the football head coach at Adelanto (Calif.) High School during the 2018 and 2019 seasons and the executive director of the M&D Learning Center in Victorville, Calif. In two seasons, his Saints teams compiled a 23-5 win-loss record and won the 2019 Desert Sky League championship.
Wadood has teaching and counseling experiences working for the Hesperia Unified School District of Los Angeles as a special education assistant from 2015 to 2017 and as a teacher and counselor at View Park Preparatory School in Los Angeles from 2004 to 2007.
The San Jose State University graduate majored in administration of justice. He was a defensive back on the 1996, 1997, and 1998 Spartan football teams after transferring to San Jose State from West Los Angeles College.
"We're excited. He played here. It's always good when you can bring a Spartan back to the homeland. He has incredible energy. We had an incredible amount of interest in the job. Ghalee was really impressive in the interview process. He's going to make a great contribution in helping us build this thing here," said Brennan on Wadood's appointment.
