Women's Basketball Unveils 2020-21 Non-Conference Schedule

San José, Calif. – San José State women's basketball head coach Jamie Craighead has announced her team's 2020-21 non-conference schedule, highlighted by a pair of home games and a season-opener against a Pac-12 opponent.

"Finally, our games are solidified and we are excited for the opportunity to prepare outside of our conference in preparation for the Mountain West schedule," says Craighead. "These non-conference contests will definitely give us the ability to assess where we are and where we need to be to compete for a Mountain West title this season."

The Spartans will get the regular season tipped off in Berkeley against California (Nov. 25) before heading to San Francisco to face the Dons five days later (Nov. 30).

SJSU's home opener is set for a Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 8), when UC Irvine comes calling to the Provident Credit Union Event Center. The team's first homestand of the year will come to a close later that week against Pacific (Dec. 13).

Rounding out San José State's non-conference slate is a trip to the state's capital to face Sacramento State (Dec. 18).

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions set by Santa Clara County, fans will not be allowed at the Event Center for home contests. The remainder of the schedule will be announced at a later date after the Mountain West releases its 20-game conference slate.

The Spartans are coming off the program's most successful season in 40 years and enters the 2020-21 campaign with six seniors on its roster. Bolstered by the nation's largest single-season win turnaround a year ago, the Spartans finished in a tie for third in the Mountain West standings and reached the semifinals of a conference tournament for just the third time in school history.
