San Jose, Calif.—As many Spartan student-athletes have been affected by the global pandemic, the San José State University Athletics Department has set a goal of raising the value of six athletic scholarships by the end of 2020, beginning on Giving Tuesday, December 1.
As the #1 Transformative University in America according to Money Magazine, investing in San José State and student-athlete scholarships transforms lives. Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement, serves as the launch date for the year-end campaign in support of Spartan student-athletes
Despite COVID-19, the San José State student-athletes continue to forge ahead in the classroom. Last year, 190 Spartans earned academic all-conference recognition from the Mountain West, Western Athletic Conference, Mountain Pacific Sports Federation or the Golden Coast Conference.
"San José State student-athletes are relying upon the generous support of Spartan Nation now more than ever," said Rob Clark, deputy director of athletics development. "We invite all alumni and friends of San José State to invest and/or invest again this month to raise the value of six athletic scholarships in support of our resilient student-athletes."
