A WIN WOULD MEAN...
»    A second-straight victory and the first win over Saint Mary's since 2000.

RECAPPING FRESNO PACIFIC
»    In a tale of two halves, the Spartans exploded offensively in the first half against Fresno Pacific. Behind Richard Washington's 23 points, SJSU took a 20 point lead into the locker room. In the second half, however, it was the Sunbirds that came out swinging as they took advantage of a cold shooting start by the Spartans to erase a 26 point deficit and lead outright with under 11 to play. The Spartans regained control of the contest inside the final three minutes and held on to win.

» The win was the Spartans' fourth-straight season-opening win under Jean Prioleau.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
»    The Saint Mary's Gaels have opened the season with a 5-1 record and are currently riding a five-game winning streak, including a 3-0 mark at home. The Gaels are coming off a 73-61win over UTEP. Tommy Kuhse, one of SMC's offensive leaders, scored a career-best 24 points in the winning effort.

RICH'S BIG DAY
»    Senior guard Richard Washington really couldn't have asked for a better start than the one he had against Fresno Pacific. The Newport News, Va., native was unstoppable as he put up 38 points on 12-of-21 shooting including a 5-for-11 mark from downtown. He also pulled down a career-best 12 rebounds to secure his first-career double-double.

JUST HOW GOOD WAS IT THO?
»    Those 38 points by Washington not only powered the Spartans to victory, but they also hold a spot near the top of the record book. The total is tied for the 3rd-most in a single game in school history (Adrian Oliver vs. Louisiana Tech in 2010).

»    For the season, those 38 points are the second-most by any player in a NCAA Div. I game thus far in 2020-21.

REBOUNDING CHAMPS 2K20
»    With 49 defensive boards in the win over Fresno Pacific, the Spartans are the No. 1 ranked team in the nation in defensive rebounding.

»    Omari Moore is currently the NCAA D1 leader in defensive rebounds per game with 11, which was a career high for the sophomore.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE DOUBLE TROUBLE
»    In the win over Fresno Pacific, teammates Richard Washington and Omari Moore became the first Spartan duo to recod a double-double since Dec. 18, 2018 when Michael Steadman and Oumar Barry achieved the feat against Stanford.

MOORE CONTINUES TO EVOLVE
»    After closing his freshman season on a high mark with a 17 point and school-record eight steal performance in the MW Tournament, the expectations for the then-freshman Omari Moore were high. In his first game of his sophomore season, he met those expectations and then some.

»    Moore scored 15 points, pulled down a career-best 11 rebounds and tacked on five assists in the win over Fresno Pacific. The double-double was the first of his career.

»    Seven of Moore's 15 points came inside the game's final three minutes, which gave the Spartans the lead needed to hold on for the victory.
