A WIN WOULD MEAN...
»    A 2-1 start for the Spartans and their first win in San Luis Obispo since Nov. 20, 2005.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
»    The Cal Poly Mustangs have started 1-2 with a season-opening win over Bethesda College and two loses to USF and Santa Clara. Under second year head coach John Smith, the Mustangs are led offensively by Riley Till (12 ppg) and Kobe Sanders (11.7 ppg).

»    Historically, the Spartans have dominated the series, however Cal Poly has the last two wins. Both of those games came back in 2011. The Spartans are looking to pick up their 25th career win in the series and first since.

AMONG THE ELITE
»    Senior guard Richard Washington is averaging 27.5 points per game through two games in 2020-21, which ranks third in NCAA D1. His 4.0 3-pts per game lead the Mountain West and are 11th nationally.

MOORE CONTINUES TO IMPRESS
»    Sophomore guard Omari Moore has had a great two-game start for the Spartans. In the opener, he scored 15 points, pulled down a career-best 11 rebounds and tacked on five assists in the win over Fresno Pacific. The double-double was the first of his career.

»    He followed that up by scoring a career-best 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting against Saint Mary's.

»    Moore leads the team in field goal percentage with a 65.2 clip. That tally ranks second in the MW and is 46th nationally. The Pasadena native is also excelling defensively as he leads the MW with 2.0 blocks per game and ranks 22nd nationally in defensive rebounds per game at 7.5.

DEFENSE LOCKING DOWN
»    A key area in which Jean Prioleau wanted to see improvement in was the team's 3-point defense after finishing 10th in the conference at 35.8 percent last season. So far the plan is working as the Spartans are the conference leader and rank 28th nationally by holding opponents to 25 percent.
