A WIN WOULD MEAN...
»    A win over their longtime rival and a chance to get back to .500 before the start of conference play.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
»    Santa Clara enters Sunday with a perfect 6-0 mark on the season and is coming off an 88-65 win over Fresno Pacific.

»    The Broncos are led by senior forward Josip Vrankic, who is averaged 18.2 points and 8.8 rebounds per contest.

RICH IS JUST DIFFERENT
»    Senior guard Richard Washington is averaging 26.3 points per game through three games in 2020-21, which ranks fourth in NCAA D1. His 3.67 3-pts per game lead the Mountain West and are 13th nationally.

»    Washington has topped 17 points in all three games, and is coming off a 24-point performance on the road against Cal Poly.

RAISING ARIZONA
»    Due to restrictions set in place by Santa Clara County in response to COVID-19, the Spartans will relocate to Phoenix, Arizona to play their 2020-21 conference slate. Both SJSU men's and women's programs will be making the move where they will stay in a bubble at the Arizona Grand Resort and Spa.

KNIGHT RETURNS TO FORM
»    Junior guard Seneca Knight returned to the Spartan starting lineup against Cal Poly and showed why he was an all-conference pick last season. He scored a season-best 18 points and pulled down seven rebounds in the loss.

MOORE CONTINUES TO IMPRESS
»    Sophomore guard Omari Moore has had a great two-game start for the Spartans. In the opener, he scored 15 points, pulled down a career-best 11 rebounds and tacked on five assists in the win over Fresno Pacific. The double-double was the first of his career.

»    Moore followed up by scoring a career-best 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting on the road against Saint Mary's.

»    Moore leads the team in field goal percentage with a 55.2 mark and is third with 12.5 ppg. The Pasadena native is also excelling defensively as he leads the MW with 2.0 blocks per game.

DEFENSE LOCKING DOWN
»    A key area in which Jean Prioleau wanted to see improvement in was the team's 3-point defense after finishing 10th in the conference at 35.8 percent last season. So far the plan is working as the Spartans are the conference leader and rank 33rd nationally by holding opponents to 26.3 percent.
