San José State University women's basketball player Tyra Whitehead and football player Bailey Gaither are the Student-Athletes of the Month for November, presented by CEFCU.
Whitehead led the women's basketball team to a 56-48 win at California to start the 2020-21 season. She recorded a double-double in the win with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Whitehead added five steals, two blocks and two assists in the victory.
Gaither caught three touchdowns in the wins over San Diego State and UNLV. Against the Aztecs, he caught three passes for 20 yards and a 3-yard touchdown. Gaither caught six passes for 94 yards and a touchdown in the UNLV win.
