Lacie Ham Signs With SJSU Softball

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose State softball head coach Tammy Lohmann picked up a huge and important addition to her 2021 signing class on Tuesday as right-handed pitcher Lacie Ham from Murrieta, Calif., has officially signed with the Spartans.

"We are excited to announce another great addition to our 2021 class in Lacie Ham," Lohmann said. "Lacie is a talented and fierce competitor on the mound that throws multiple pitches for strikes. We cannot wait to see her continue to grow her game in the Spartan uniform for the next four years under Coach Letty's development."

As a back-to-back team MVP for Murrieta Mesa High School, Ham has excelled in the circle at both the high school and club ball levels. A two-time second team all-league selection in 2018 and 2019, she had a sensational 2019-20 campaign that saw her set the school record with a 0.89 ERA and led the D1 CIF South Section with 91 strikeouts in just nine appearances, an astounding average of 10.1 K's per game. In March of this year, she was a Runner-Up National Player of the Week after going 4-0 with 42 strikeouts in 27 innings.

As a sophomore in 2018-19, she tallied 16 complete games in 26 appearances while striking out 166 batters in 149.1 innings of work. Her strikeout total was just one shy of being the most in the CIF SS Region.

Considered one of the top pitching talents in the state, Ham has also excelled in travel ball. She played for the OC Batbusters from 2014 until 2019-20. In 2016, she was nothing short of unstoppable with a 42-4 mark, 281 strikeouts and a 0.94 ERA while helping to lead her team to a third-place finish at PGF Nationals. Playing against some of the most fierce competition in the country, Ham was 6-1 with 27 strikeouts and a 1.43 ERA at the nationals.

In the summer of 2018, she helped lead the Batbusters to a third-place finish at the USSSA World Fastpitch Championships, and in the fall of 2019 her team won the PGF Shootout and earned a trip to the inaugural USSSA Invitational in Florida. In 2019-20, Ham switched over to the 18U So Cal Athletics and was named No. 76 in the 2021 Extra Eltie 100.
