SAN JOSE, Calif. - When San Jose State men's basketball was forced to leave Fresno on Sunday morning empty handed and still without a game under their belt due to their non-conference tilt with Fresno Pacific being canceled, it was all but certain that the first-ever meeting between the programs was going to be put on indefinite hold. That is no longer the case as Fresno Pacific is back on the schedule and will now travel into the Bay Area to take on the Spartans on Wednesday, December 9th, in what will be San Jose State's season-opener.
Fresno Pacific is replacing St. Katherine's on the Spartans' schedule. The game will be played at 5:00 p.m. PT in Santa Cruz at Kaiser Permanente Arena, home of the Santa Cruz Warriors. The game will be streamed live via the Mountain West Digital Network and Justin Allegri will have the Spartan Radio call on the TuneIn app or on TuneIn.com.
Kaiser Permanente Arena will also serve as the host for the Spartans' final non-conference contest against Santa Clara on Dec. 18.
Additionally, San Jose State has added Cal Poly to their schedule for a Sunday afternoon bout on Dec. 13. The Spartans and Mustangs are set to square off in San Luis Obispo for a 1:00 p.m. PT tip. It will be the first meeting between the programs since Dec.10, 2011.
