Spartans' Kairee Robinson Named To Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll

Louisville, Ky.----- San Jose State University sophomore tailback Kairee Robinson was one of four players named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll for his contributions in the Spartans' 35-24 victory over the University of Hawaii.

Robinson had his major college single-game rushing highs of 111 yards on 17 carries and scored a key third-quarter touchdown in the Spartans' win to remain as one of the nine undefeated teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) at 5-0. Robinson had his two longest runs of the season, 20 and 25 yards in the first half as San Jose State raced out to a 21-0 lead. He also caught one pass and returned one kickoff in the win.

Robinson was honored along with University of California's Nikko Remigio, Missouri's Tyler Badic, and Jha'Quan Jackson of Tulane for their play on winning teams in games ending the weekend of December 5.

The Paul Hornung Award is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission to pay tribute to football Hall of Fame legend and Louisville native the late Paul Hornung, the 1956 Heisman Trophy winner from Notre Dame University who went to National Football League stardom with the Green Bay Packers  teams of the 1950's and 1960's.

Finalists for the 2020 Paul Hornung Award will be announced on December 23 and the winner will be named on January 6, 2021.
