SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose State University and the University of Texas football teams will meet for the second time on September 6, 2025 in Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Marie Tuite, the Spartans' athletics director, made the announcement.
San Jose State and Texas faced each other for the first time in Austin, Texas, on September 9, 2017, with the Longhorns winning, 56-0.
The San Jose State at Texas game, currently, is the second non-conference road game for the Spartans in the 2025 season. The Spartans also have a road contest at the University of South Florida on September 20. San Jose State is scheduled to open the 2025 season hosting Central Michigan University in CEFCU Stadium on August 30.
The 2025 game with Texas will be just the fourth game against a current Big 12 Conference opponent since 2000. The Spartans played at Iowa State in 2016, at Kansas State in 2007, and defeated No. 9 ranked TCU at home in 2000 when both teams were Western Athletic Conference members. San Jose State also played at former Big 12 member Nebraska in 2000 and 2008.
