THE FIELD:
66 total players
12 five-man teams (GolfStat national ranking listed where applicable.) - Arizona State, #38-Augusta, California, #29-East Tennessee State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, #2-Pepperdine (host), #19-Saint Mary's, San Diego State, San José State, SMU, Southern California and six individual players representing Pepperdine (four), San Jose State (one), and Georgia Tech (one).

FORMAT: 18 holes each day for the 54-hole tournament.

TEE TIMES: Foursomes 7:38 a.m. (PT) to 11:16 a.m. (PT) daily from #1. San José State tee times on January 25 are from 9:10 a.m. through 10:06 a.m. (PT).

GOLF Channel coverage: Live daily starting January 25, 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. (PT). There is a three-hour replay each evening beginning at 5:30 p.m. (PT).

SCORING: Team scoring will be based on the best four scores each day from each team's five-person lineup. There will be a team champion and an individual medalist. Live scoring is available at www.golfstat.com.

BACK IN ACTION: The Southwestern Invitational is San José State first tournament since the Bandon Dunes Championship in Bandon, Ore., conducted March 8-10, 2020. The Spartans finished tied for seventh in the 16-team field.

SOUTHWESTERN TOURNAMENT HISTORY: San José State is competing in its 14th Southwestern Invitational. The Spartans are in the field for the fourth consecutive year.
San José State's best finish in the Southwestern is a third in 1992. More recently, the Spartans finished seventh in 2018, sixth in 2019, and tied for eighth in 2020.
Individually, the last San Jose State player to finish in the top-five for medalist honors was Kevin Velo, who tied for fourth in 2019 with a three-under par 213 (69-75-69).
Among the Spartans in this year's field, Bryce Wortman tied for eighth last year with an even par 216 (72-73-71).

LAST SAN JOSE STATE TEAM VICTORY: The most recent San José State team victory was at the 2019 Stockton Pacific Invitational in Stockton, Calif., held October 21 & 22.  The Spartans finished with a 16-under par 848 total.

LAST SPARTAN MEDALIST: Senior Sean Yu is the last San José State player to earn medalist honors in a 54-hole college tournament with his 11-under par 205 (64-69-72) at the 2019 Stockton Pacific Invitational, October 21 and 22, in Stockton, Calif. Yu's win was his first in a NCAA men's college golf tournament.
Yu also finished first (70, minus-2) in a 13-player field at the 2020 Genesis Collegiate Showcase to earn a spot at the Genesis Open.
