Women's Tennis Begins 2021 Season Friday

The 2020-21 San José State University women's tennis team opens the season on Friday with a match at UC Irvine beginning at 11 a.m.
 
The Spartans return five players from last year's team and add three freshmen to the squad. Tamara Culibrk returns for her fifth season on the Spartan team, while Savannah Sendar returns for her fourth year. Alba Pedrero Galindo returns for her third year on the team, while Rozalina Youseva and Lara Marco Mas are in their second year.
 
Three newcomers join the Spartan team this season – Jovana Babic from Serbia, Irena Muradyan from Armenia and Raquel Villan Pereira from Spain.

The Spartans are also successful off the court, earning the ITA All-Academic Team recognition for the 2019-20 academic year. Culibrk, Marco Mas, Pedrero Galindo, Sendar and Youseva received ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
 
Fans will not be permitted to attend Spartan tennis matches this season in accordance with local health and safety guidelines. However, Spartan fans can still be there to represent Spartan Nation through the department's Cardboard Cutout programs.
